Go Vikings!
(If you’re as excited as I am, you must watch this video.)
It’s a busy life, but so darn fun. My Run For Senate Press Release went out yesterday, on my 29th birthday. . . 2010 is going to be a big year, and I look forward to the challenge. For those of you that have asked (& those that have been afraid to ask), YES I am still going to be selling real estate. Matter of fact, our business is growing! 2009 was our best year ever, and I expect 2010 to be twice that. Like my good friend Denny McNamara told me, “Nothing is as hard as raising four children, if you’ve done that, this Senate thing will be a breeze.” Phil & I will be down to one child at home this fall, and Avery has been running my social media campaign for the last year.
This morning on the way to school, Avery asked, “So with you running for this Senate thing, do we get to travel?”
“Yes,” I said. “We get to travel to Cottage Grove, Hastings & South St. Paul. Places like that.”
“What are we going to do when we go there?” she asked.
“Well, we’re going to knock on people’s doors and let them know how nice we are,” I answered.
A huge smile came across her face and without missing a beat she says, “Oh this is going to be soooo fun!”
She’s going to make a great realtor.
Real Estate News – Housing Supply Outlook for January 2010
Though this is the week that the number 4 is on a lot of our minds, for the month of January, 5 is the magic number. The last time there was only five months of supply or less in the Twin Cities housing market, the month was March of 2006. George Bush was president, Cretin won the MN State High School Hockey Championship and the market was on the cusp of a 24-month slide in home sales and prices. Flash forward to January 2010, and we’re back down to 5.0 months of supply. The biggest drops in supply can be found the lower price ranges, where homes are selling quickly. For perspective, there’s only 2.6 months of supply under $120,000, while there’s 30.2 months of supply above $1 million. Home prices are still soft across the board, but the largest declines in price in 2009 can be found in the condominium segment, where the average sales price for the year was 17.1 percent lower than in 2008. Anyone want to buy mine in St. Paul?
